The Macalester College QSN Chapter provides a welcoming and supportive community for its members. QuestBridge Scholars can engage in chapter activities, apply for leadership positions, and participate in opportunities offered nationwide through QuestBridge, including access to QuestBridge Alumni Association resources.
Founded in 2016, the Macalester QSN Chapter is dedicated to supporting QuestBridge Scholars, first-generation students, low-income students, and students of color as they navigate their college experiences. The chapter meets regularly and serves as a safe space for students to discuss shared experiences in college and beyond.
In past years, in collaboration with the Department of Multicultural Life, the Kofi Annan Institute for Global Citizenship, and the Admissions Office, the chapter has hosted campus visits for local first-generation college students, annual QuestBridge bingo nights for admitted students, and chapter-wide volunteer opportunities. In addition to group activities, there are always opportunities for underclassmen to get involved in chapter leadership and initiatives. Each year, newly appointed chapter leaders and Executive Board members work together to plan new programming to ensure chapter members feel welcomed and engaged.
