Data Scientist Intern

As QuestBridge’s Data Scientist Intern, you will work directly with our Data Scientists. We are looking for candidates interested in using their analytical and technical skills to explore new data, design intuitive ways to visualize nontraditional data, and build predictive models. Our Data Scientists work closely together in a collaborative environment where feedback and growth are welcomed and encouraged. Desired qualifications

The best candidates should be able to speak to their:

• Relevant work experience of at least 2 years
• Training in Data Science (Machine Learning, Statistics, Analytics, and Computer Science)
• Experience working with multiple sources of data (education data is a plus)
• Ability to write code that allows for easy replication of statistical and machine learning work
• Ability to incorporate feedback
• Strong communication skills
• Some familiarity with some or all of the following:
• Python (Pandas, Scikit Learn, etc.)
• Git
• SQL
• Statistics
• Machine Learning (Natural Language Processing is a plus)

Success of this role is defined by achieving the following by the end of the internship:

• Detailed and clear understanding of data used in project (visualizations that help others gain the same understanding is a plus)
• Preliminary predictive model that can be integrated with current models
• Well-documented code that any current or incoming data scientists can build upon

Compensation

Competitive compensation is commensurate with experience and skills for the position.  

Hours and Location of Work

This is a temporary, full-time position for at least 10 weeks, located at the QuestBridge office in Palo Alto, CA.
